Suzuki Auckland 2010 Concert

Just attended an annual Suzuki Auckland Concert at Town Hall....since is free and also on a Sunday noon. Realized the method of teaching and learning music is similar to Yamaha system. Even the songs were familiar, some of them were similar with the JMC songs. Emphasis is placed more on creativity and group learning, not merely on the technical aspect of playing the instrument. Memories of my childhood music learning days came flooding back, am very grateful that mum continued her effort in supporting my music education till Grade 6 Yamaha and Grade 8 for ABRSM Practical and Trinity Theory. The strong interest in music in general continues and I dare say, Yamaha system is effective in providing sustainable music enjoyment throughout lifetime for its students. It required hard work and discipline, which takes so much effort from my part (not easy, gave mum and teacher a hard time, especially when it comes to do the homework and practice). However, towards the end and overall, I truly enjoyed the Yamaha experience. I enjoy dancing too, and I believe musicality and rhythmic quality is essential to be a good dancer. One must be able to understand and interpret the intricacy, the fine subtlety of music when dancing and I am on that advantage from my proper previous music training. =)
