You reap what you sow

The key is do not give up. Never, never, never give up! Everything has its own timing and season. Just wait patiently and do what you are supposed to do.

2 real life examples I have learned from my friends:

case 1: She had been trying hard for 3 years consecutively to gain entry into Medicine (extremely limited places). Mind you, she has amazing grades, the point is life seem to be unfair to her but she perseveres. Till the point she had completed her Biomed degree and after 3 tries i.e. 3 years, she finally achieved what she hoped for.

case 2: My MCC competition team member. After 4 attempts despite each attempt the team did not further into the next round, he was finally selected for the development team.

What do they have in common? The endurance to continue and not to give up that easily! It is worth the try, effort and patience as you can see.
