What I like to do: 1. Dance
HAha...don't get me wrong that I only like ballet. Yes....I do learn ballet but I like other dances as well. And I will tell you why I don't really fancy ballet that much.
1. Classical Ballet: pointe work(standing on your toes) and dancing well at the same time is a difficult task and for my case, a pain in my ass.
2. European Folk dances (Hungarian, Polish, Russian & perhaps Bohemian, Spanish dances) :I find them captivating due to the lively and happy tunes. Maybe partly because I listen to romantic period composers with nationalistic flavours (Liszt, Brahms, Chopin,Tchaikovsky, Smetana, Dvorak, Bizet) and we learn a bit of that in the ballet grade syllabus.
3. Latin America (tango, salsa, rumba, cha cha etc) and ballroom (viennese waltz): Looks appealing, graceful and elegant!=) Quite catchy tune for salsa, rumba and cha cha. Only know how to do basic cha cha and waltz. Can't do the complicated ones.
4. Jazz, tap dancing, line dancing: Did a little bit of tap dancing last time. Jazz is interesting, heard need a bit of ballet technique. Can be seen in most broadway musicals(love them!) Line dancing= cowboy dancing is cool too
5. hip hop: Energetic, young and also need athletic skills. Well...have not try it before but quite keen in learning it.
Am taking dance 101 g(Intro to Dance and Creative processes) as a general education paper. Yeah...looking forward to it in sem 1 2007. =)
