The arts/science dilemma

There has been quite a debate currently published in the local papers of whether students should be encouraged to do science or arts. In my opinion, it is really up to their abilities and interests. What is the point of doing science stream if you do not really have the ability to do reasonably well in it. And in between those 2 streams I believe there is another stream which differs from both mentioned beforehand which is the commerce stream. You need a bit of science and arts in commerce. You need to be analytical as well as being good in both written and communication skills.

Well....interest also plays a part in it. But most often you have to consider the marketability of the job as well. Because what you are truly interested may not be very marketable in the job market. Even tertiary education fees comes into account particularly if one pursues his/her education in a private tertiary education provider in future.

I agree that if you can do it, just give a try for science stream in your upper secondary education for more opportunities in future (being able to continue wt science related areas as well as other fields). I believe anyone can be a good student be it a science or arts student. It all depends on your effort and confidence to succeed. The key word is "always believe in yourself".

Unrelated to the topic above, most of you might be wondering what I have been doing at home for the past 2 months (summer hol back in mly). I have been relaxing and enjoying my hol to the fullest. Lazing at home too much i think haha. Well that's all for this post. Have a good week ahead. Cheers
