Trip to South island nz (Christchurch and Dunedin)

Monday: Flight was delayed for 2 hours! Due to thick fog. Flew fr Auckland to Christchurch
stayed at Kiwi House backpackers. From that place knew that there are many Japanese in Christchurch!
Tuesday: Went to Antartica Centre. It is an educational centre to promote awareness to protect the environment ie Antarctica. Headed to Art Gallery, took pictures at Botanical Garden
Wednesday: Went to Uni of Canterbury, then to Mona Vale (beautiful park but couldn't do any boating due to cold weather). Afternoon- spent time at the Orana Wildlife Park
Thursday: Akaroa (French village ie settlement) since the early days before the British came. Tried wine and cheese tasting on the way to akaroa.:-) So sad can't watch dolphins due to adverse weather.
Friday: Canterbury Museum, Cathedral Tower (climbed the spiralling staircase to the top of the tower...134 steps), Victoria Square
2pm onwards board a bus to Dunedin...journey took about 6 hours.
Stayed at Next Stop Backpackers.
Saturday: Visit Lilian at Uni of Otago, went to Otago Museum as well. Highlight of the day: Penguin Reserve(see yellow eyed penguins, seals in the open) and Larnach Castle tour
Sunday: Olverston House tour ( a Jewish wealthy family house in the early days of NZ) ...get to know kiwi culture better (There's a huge influence of Victorian culture at that time).
Highlight of the day: Taeiri Gorge Railway (see the beautiful landscape of nz...fr urban, farming to mountains and gorges) for 4 hours!
Monday: Cadbury Chocolate Factory tour:-). Get to sample lots of mouth watering choc !
Highlight of the day: steepest street in the world! ...Baldwin Street....
